Answer: Chilton Home
The Chilton home is located on 709 College Street.
It was the home of Reverend Thomas Chilton until his passing in 1854. David Dean built the picket fence in the 1890s from heart pine cut at his mill. In 1984, Gregory Hudson bought the home, restored it, and lived there while serving as mayor of Montgomery. In 1996, the home was sold to the Johnsons who then turned it into a bed and breakfast. Since 2000, Fred and Betty Harvey have lived here.
When it was discovered that the men were dead, the bodies of the four Jesse James Gang were not allowed to go into a cemetery where all the good people were. As a result, a new cemetery was started on Old Plantersville Road called the "New Montgomery Cemetery". It is here that three of the four bodies were laid to rest. We are not sure where the other was buried.
